1. Feed your puppy several hours before bedtime. This allows time to digest and go potty.
2. Encourage your puppy to drink a few hours before bed too. Otherwise, they will likely need to go to the toilet during the night.
3. Take your puppy out for toileting just before bedtime.
4. Take them outside as soon as you get up in the morning, and as late as you can before you leave.
5. Be prepared to go out right after meals.
6. Use a simple word when your puppy is doing what you expect in the correct place. Also reward with a treat or a toy when they have finished.
7. If accidents happen, remain calm and immediately take your puppy out to their potty area. Thoroughly clean the soiled area. NEVER punish your puppy during an accident as this may result in fear or anxiety.
